On December 14th, MDL Group celebrated our Annual Holiday Party at the ever-welcoming Pizzeria Monzu. For the fifth consecutive year, Monzu provided the perfect setting for a night filled with incredible food, lively entertainment, and meaningful connections. But this wasn’t just about a company gathering—it was a celebration of the MDL family, which extends beyond the workplace to include the invaluable support systems of our teammates: their spouses, partners, and loved ones.
The Venue That Feels Like Home
Monzu holds a special place in MDL’s history. Located in a property we’ve managed since 1991, its owner Gio has been a tenant for many years, forming a relationship built on trust and mutual respect. Every year, we choose to return to Monzu because they overwhelm us with value—offering not just top-notch service but an unforgettable experience. While Gio and his wife Naomi (who usually headline the evening’s music) couldn’t be there this year, their spirit was present in every detail. Ronnie Rose, a friend of Gio’s, took center stage, and in a memorable twist, he invited Buck Hujabre, our resident entertainer, and CEO Hayim Mizrachi to join him. Hayim may not be a professional singer, but Ronnie worked his magic to ensure the performance was a hit, creating a moment that had everyone laughing and cheering.
A Feast to Remember
The food was, as always, a highlight. Monzu outdid itself with a menu that began with appetizers like oysters, tuna poke, and shrimp cocktail, as well as a pasta bar including butternut squash and sausage risotto and lasagna. All this was accompanied by a stunning charcuterie spread that stretched the length of the dining room. Their legendary pizza served as table bread, setting the tone for entrees straight from the grill—chicken, lamb, sausages and steak. A trio of desserts including a chocolate mousse, cannolis and italian style donuts rounded out the culinary offerings, leaving no one wanting for more.
A Tradition Rooted in Gratitude
This holiday gathering wasn’t just about good food and music; it was a reflection of what makes MDL unique. As Hayim shared in his opening remarks, celebrating with the significant others of our teammates is a vital part of our tradition. These are the people who support our team members behind the scenes, making their professional achievements possible. By inviting them to share in the joy of the evening, we acknowledge their role in the larger MDL family.
The event also highlighted MDL’s deep appreciation for its team. From recognizing new members who joined this year to honoring milestones and contributions, the night was a heartfelt reminder of the talent and dedication that drive our success. Hayim captured the spirit of collaboration in his remarks, pointing to the “synergy” that defines MDL’s culture—a willingness to support one another and work as a true team.
